Granger Smith announced as new Saturday night fair headliner

The Lassen County Fair Saturday night headliner is now Granger Smith, fair staff announced.

“We are saddened to hear Gabby Barrett is still dealing with a recent illness and will no longer be joining us for the 2021 Lassen County Fair. Help us wish Gabby a speedy recovery and join us in welcoming Granger Smith to headline the Lassen County Fair July 24,” wrote the fair.

Smith’s songs include  “Happens Like That,” “The Country Boy Song,” “Holler,” and more.

According to his website, “The power of music has always been in Granger Smith’s hands, even when he didn’t know it. When people need hope, his songs inspires it. When people are in a tough spot, he shows them a way out. When people are looking for purpose, he is proof that sometimes purpose finds you.

“That’s what country music has done for Smith. And that’s the true measure of a bona fide artist: when you can share a little bit of yourself with every story you tell and every picture you paint.

“After the kind of year Smith had — we all had — he decided to let his music do the healing. Not just for himself, but for anyone who needs to hear songs that let them know they’re not alone on whatever road they’re taking.”
