Greenville man arrested, passenger injured after alleged DUI crash

A Greenville man was placed under arrest Saturday, Jan. 30 following an alleged felony DUI, causing injury to another while driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to a statement from Susanville CHP, at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday,  Patrick Prior, 23, of Greenville, left the Iron Horse Bar in Westwood in a 2000 Dodge pickup truck. An unidentified 34-year-old female from Greenville, was riding as a passenger in the Dodge. While traveling south on State Route 147, south of Indian Hills Road, Prior failed to negotiate a left curve due to his high level of intoxication.

Prior lost control of the Dodge pickup, which crossed into the northbound lane of traffic, then down a snow covered embankment. The Dodge collided with a large rock and overturned, sustaining major damage.

Prior was uninjured and self-extricated himself from the pickup. The female passenger, who was unrestrained, sustained a major injury, the statement read, and was extricated by emergency personnel that arrived on scene.

The unidentified passenger was transported via ambulance to Seneca Hospital in Chester.

Investigating officer R. Bruce, allegedly determined Prior had been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision, per the statement. Officer Bruce placed Prior under arrest for Felony DUI, causing injury to another while driving under the influence of alcohol.
