Grizzlies land two league wins
The Lassen High School Grizzlies baseball team traveled to West Valley Thursday, April 4 and to Anderson Tuesday, April 9.
They won both contests, defeating West Valley 11-6, and Anderson 17-7.
The Wednesday, April 10 scheduled game against Reed High School was canceled due to poor field conditions at Frank Ernaga field.
Grizzlies vs. West Valley
Starting out pitching for the Grizzlies was Ethan Williams, pitching the complete game of seven innings and the winning pitcher.
Williams allowed nine hits, one strike out, three walks, two hit batters, and six runs.
The Grizzlies were a wrecking crew against West Valley, with Miles Ormachea having four times at bat, three runs, two hits including a double, a single stolen base and solo RBI.
Cole Dyer one of the most consistent on the team had four times at bat, with two hits and two RBIs.
The Grizzlies’ pitcher, Williams, also did a number on and off the mound. He was at bat twice, each garnering a hit along with three RBIs.
Cade Lile was up at bat three times, with three runs scored, two hits including a double and a stolen base. Brock Wolf had an impressive run at bat three times, with three runs, a double, and a stolen base.
Last in the line up against West Valley was Gabe Delgado who finished three times at bat, with two runs scored, and solo hit.
Beating West Valley placed the Grizzlies at 4-0 in league standing with 12-5 overall record leading into the game against Anderson.

Following their league win over West Valley, the Grizzlies continued down the winning path against Anderson.
Lowgan Fisher was the starting and winning pitcher for the Grizzlies, pitching four innings, allowing three hits, walked one batter, five strike outs, and giving up two runs.
Pitching in relief was Delgado, pitching only one out of an inning, allowing three hits, one walk and three runs.
Next in relief was Evan Westfall, pitching an inning and two outs, allowing one hit, one walk, one strikeout and allowed no runs.
Closing out pitching was Dylan Enriquez pitching one inning, allowing one hit, three walks, one strike out and two runs.
Grizzlie slugger Ormachea collected two hits including a double, three runs and a stolen base. Wolf garnered two hits with including a double and triple with three runs scored and three RBIs.
Dylan Boyer recorded a hit, a run and solo RBI. Dyer finished with two hits that include two doubles and two RBIs.
Winning pitcher Fisher finished with two hits along with a double and two RBIs.
David Painter recorded a double and an RBI, Finn Osborn, and Enriquez both recorded one hit as well.
The Grizzlies faced off against Anderson Friday, April 12. Results were unavailable at press time but look for the results in the Tuesday, April 23 issue of the Lassen County Times.
