Although Lassen High School sports is a few weeks out from starting, that doesn’t mean you can’t get excited to see purple and gold athletes making their home town proud.
Football, volleyball, swim, girl’s golf, cross country and field hockey are set to begin their seasons with their preliminary schedules released.
The Lady Grizzlies volleyball team is set to kick off the fall sports for Lassen High School on Tuesday, Aug. 20 against Willows High School here at home.
Field hockey will be starting the following week on Monday, Aug. 26, where they will play an away game against Pleasant Valley.
Then on Friday, Aug. 30 the much-anticipated Lassen Grizzlies football kicks off at home against Las Plumas.
The swimming Grizzlies follow with a pre-season relay meet in Anderson, California Wednesday, Sept. 4.
On Thursday, Sept. 5 the Lady Grizzlies girls golf team swings into season at Tierra Oaks Golf Course in Redding, California.
Last but certainly not least, Lassen High’s cross country team will start their season at Central Valley for a pre-season meet on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
These are preliminary dates and may be subject to change, so keep an eye on the sports calendar on the front page of the sports section.
