McCloud
After the Thursday defeat to Klamath Union, the Grizzlies brought their “A” game against their Friday, Dec. 13 opponents, McCloud High School.

The Grizzlies never gave the McCloud Loggers a fighting chance, leading through the whole game to come out with a 70-20 win for the Grizzlies.

To say Eric Smith simply led the attack would be an understatement, as Smith recorded 25 points of the team’s total score, while the teammates closest were Landon Bennett and Growdon, who each scored six points.

Weed
The final game of the tournament for the Grizzlies was against Weed High School. The Grizzlies trailed in the first quarter, falling 10 points behind at 18-8.

But the Grizzly defense was able to slow Weed down in the second quarter before the half, and after the half the Grizzly defense remained strong.

In the final quarter the Grizzlies were able to keep the Weed offense at bay, giving the Grizzlies a 23 point final quarter, putting them just five points behind Weed at 56-51 by the time the buzzer sounded to end the game.

Del Carlo led the Grizzlies’ offense tallying 16 points, while Growdon followed with 13 points.

The Grizzlies then took part in the local Red Lion Classic, Friday, Dec. 20.

Results were unavailable at press time, but look for the results in the Tuesday, Dec. 31 issue of the Lassen County Times.
