A missing person report on an unidentified man from Chester had a happy ending when he was located the next morning on Silver Lake Road.
According to a statement from the California Highway Patrol, the man had been reported missing Monday, and about 11:18 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, a CHP officer decided to check the forest service roads in the area where the missing man had planned to be cutting wood.
The CHP officer located the man walking on Silver Lake Road about 2 miles from A-21. The missing man told the officer he slid off the road the night before near Silver Lake and sought shelter there for the night. When the officer located the man, he said heβd been walking out of the woods since early morning.
The officer drove the missing man to his home in Chester where he was reunited with this family.
