Harlan “Butch” Leroy Hans

Harlan Leroy Hans, aka “Butch” was born in Van Nuys, CA, July 9, 1940, to parents Hugo and Clara Hans. Working in electronics, he was introduced to his wife Dana. They moved from Saugus, California, for a less stressful way of life after falling in love with Westwood, in 1976, and together raised four children. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and was an enthusiastic Nascar fan.

Regretfully, surrounded by his loved ones, he passed away in Chico on Aug. 19.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dana, and children Harlan, Laurene (Tim), Genevieve (Joe) and Darin; brother Dennis Hans; niece Deena (Jeff); nephew Donald (Corinne); grandchildren Melissa, Harlan (Natasha) and Steven Hans, Brittany, Brianna, Cody Rader and Bryce Acquistapace; and great-grandchildren Jasmine and Adrian Hans.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Chico on Oct. 1, at 701 E. Lassen Ave. (Clubhouse) at 11 a.m.
