Two motorists were injured in five-vehicle crash on Highway 395
Sara R. Welby, 26, of Cedar City, California suffered moderate injuries and Amarie C. Ward, 39 of Sparks, Nevada suffered minor injuries after a big rig driven by Austin M. Levindofske, 26, of Red Bluff, California crashed his 2018 Peterbuilt into the back of Welby’s 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 on Highway 395 south of County Road A 25 about 12:10 p.m. Thursday, May 18.
According to the California Highway Patrol, after Levindofske pushed the Dodge onto the right shoulder, the trailer collided with a 2018 Subaru Outback driven by Matthew G. Beccaria, 39, of Westwood, and the Subaru then collided with a 2018 Hyundai Sonata driven by Mindy A. Damon, 43, of Reno, Nevada.
Welby was transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nevada, and Ward was taken to Banner Lassen Medical Center.
Highway 395 was temporarily closed, alcohol and drugs were not a contributing factor, and the crash remains under investigation.
