An unidentified 51-year-old man from Provo, Utah, was killed about 2:17 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 in a head-on crash on Highway 44 east of the Bogard Rest Area.
According to a statement from the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2006 Buick westbound on Highway 44 when he collied with a 2009 Ford pickup driven eastbound by Debbie Guasparilarosa, 66, of Napa, California when, for reasons under investigation, the two vehicles collided.
Guasparilarosa, Jeremy Card, 47, of Provo, Utah, and Sebastian Jones, 27, of Provo, Utah, were transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center. The unidentified man suffered fatal injuries.
