The California Highway Patrol arrested a unidentified man and an unidentified woman after domestic violence incident reported on Highway 395.
According to a statement from the CHP, approximately 3:14 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, Susanville CHP Dispatch advised officers of a report of a male striking a female along the shoulder of the highway north of Doyle. Officers responded and upon arrival they located a man in the driver’s seat of a vehicle stopped along the shoulder. The female party had been picked up by witnesses stopping to offer assistance.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned a domestic violence incident allegedly had occurred between the man and the woman. The man allegedly had been driving under the influence of alcohol prior to stopping along the shoulder and had significant injuries to his face. After gathering statements from both parties and witnesses on scene, the woman was arrested for felony domestic violence and the man was arrested for driving under the influence and misdemeanor domestic violence.
