How you can now obtain information regarding upcoming public hearings
The Lassen County Planning and Building Services Department would like the community to know how they can now obtain information regarding upcoming public hearings since the public will — for the unforeseeable future — no longer be able to see that information in print form as an official public notice in the Lassen County Times.
The law requires that public hearings for projects overseen by the department are considered by the Lassen County Planning Commission and/or Lassen County Board of Supervisors must be noticed.
You will now find information for upcoming public hearings will be posted at the following locations in Susanville at least 10 days prior to any hearing:
- 707 Nevada St.,
- 221 S. Roop St. and
- 220 S. Lassen St.
This information can be found on the Lassen County Planning and Building Services Department’s website at lassencounty.org
Notices establishing public review periods for certain environmental documents may also be posted at the above locations, when required.
Other noticing protocol, including posting agendas, mailing property owner and agency notices, etc. is unchanged. For more information, call 251-8269.
The Planning and Building Services Department would also like to remind the public, that while its doors are closed, they are still processing building and planning permits thought the mail and other means. So, while COVID-19 may be keeping you at the house, you can still get your back-burner projects done.
Call 251-8269 for more information on permit processing.
