The Lassen County Humane Society issued the following statement regarding the cancellation of two of its most poplar events this year.
“Happy New Year from Lassen Humane Society! And, here’s hoping this year will indeed be a happier one.
“Because of continuing COVID-19 concerns, we are unfortunately not going to host our annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner, or our annual Yard Sale. We’re hoping to be able to do some kind of fundraising event by the fall.
“In the meantime, we are able to continue running our Pups on Parole program, as well as paying for the spay or neuter of all adoptable cats and dogs at the Lassen County Animal Shelter. We have also started a brief program to subsidize the spaying of female cats to hopefully reduce the number of unwanted kittens this spring, (contact your vet for details).
“Although we are not having fundraising events, we, of course, welcome cash donations — see details at lassenhumanesociety.org or by calling 257-4555.
“As always, we are greatly appreciative of the generous support we’ve always received from Lassen County residents and businesses.”
