Ingram hosts second annual Career Opportunities Workshop

Lassen County Supervisor Jason Ingram seeks regional employers to meet with local students and share employment opportunities during the second annual Career Opportunities Workshop set for 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday, April 8 at Lassen High School. Booths at the event are free, and Ingram said he will provide donuts and coffee in the morning for the employers as well as a free pizza lunch.

He asks all local businesses, agencies and organizations that offer career opportunities to host a booth at this year’s workshop to help interest local kids in developing a career right here at home.

Ingram said he expects the more than 35 employers who attended last year’s event held at the Lassen County Fairgrounds to attend again this year, but he’s seeking more employers for this year. He said many Lassen Community College vocational programs will attend this year’s event as will representatives from the Lassen County Office of Education.

Every local ninth to 12th grade student who attends will learn about the great careers available right here at home through informational booths and demonstrations.
