Jury convicts transient on felony charges

A Lassen County jury found a transient guilty of seven felony and two misdemeanor counts last month.

According to a statement of the Lassen County District Attorney’s Facebook page, on May 3, a jury convicted Amanda Hubert Cazden, a transient, on three felony counts of second-degree burglary, three felony counts of vandalism, one felony count of grand theft of copper and two misdemeanor counts of copper theft.

Cazden committed these burglaries from Lassen Municipal Utility District outbuildings between June 2021 and July 2022. She damaged the doors to make entry into the buildings, stealing copper wire, stripping it and taking it to Nevada to sell.
