K-9 Zeke assists officers during traffic stop, one arrested for various drug charges

A positive alert by Susanville Police K-9 Zeke led to the discovery of 3.76 pounds of methamphetamine and 23 grams of heroin, a statement from the Susanville Police Department alleged.

At about 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, Susanville Police Department officers conducted a vehicle stop on Main Street in Susanville. During the stop, K-9 Zeke gave a positive alert on the vehicle, alleged the statement from the local department. Based on Zeke’s alert, officers conducted a search on the vehicle. The search resulted in the discovery of 3.76 pounds of methamphetamine and 23 grams of heroin.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Shannon Silva, 44, of North Highlands, California was arrested for a variety of drug charges at the scene.

Silva was booked into the Lassen County jail for possession, transportation and intent to sell illegal drugs. She is being held at the Lassen County jail on a $25,000 bail.
