Lady Cougar soccer hosts Corsairs

The Lassen College Lady Cougar soccer team hosted their second-to-last conference game against the College of the Redwoods Corsairs Tuesday, Nov. 7.

The Corsairs left the field with the win 1-0 after a tough game on the Cougar field.

Though Lassen ultimately lost the match, they were sure to give a great fight throughout the duration of the game. The Corsairs were only able to make their single goal once the second period had begun and the Cougar defensive line was thrown out of sync.

The 1-0 loss was a great disappointment for the Lady Cougars, as the Oct. 13 away game against the Corsairs resulted in a 2-1 win for Lassen.

The main difference between the two games, though, was the sudden drop in temperature. Though it is still uncertain, Cougar fans speculated that the shift in performance on the field could be attributed to the colder winds present.

After taking on the Corsairs, the Lady Cougars traveled to Feather River College for the final conference game of the 2017 season. The Friday, Nov. 10 game results will be published in the Tuesday, Nov. 21 issue.
