Lassen High School’s varsity girls basketball team’s season ended last night just three victories short of California Division III state championship.
The Colfax Falcons (22-23) won last night’s game against the Lassen Lady Grizzlies (22-23) 67-45 in Colfax.
The Lady Grizzlies won both a league championship and a section title on the way to the state tournament. The Division IV Lady Grizzlies were bumped up into Division III in the state tournament.
According to the Colfax Record, the Lady Falcons outscored the Lady Grizzlies 21-3 in the first five minutes, but the Lady Grizzlies then went on a 12-3 rampage to trail by less than 10 points at the half.
The Lady Grizzlies played hard in the third quarter and cut the Lady Falcons’ lead to only 5 points, but that’s as close as they could get.
