Since the beginning of the Lady Grizzlies’ volleyball season they have had exceptional players come forth all season long, but one stood out the most from the Lassen ball club, Ellie Stewart.
Stewart was selected to play in the Northern California Volleyball All-Star game on Sunday, Dec. 2. She played middle, and garnered the first solo block of the game, with three kills and, to top off the night, the Northern team won in three sets.
Stewart played an impressive season with the Lady Grizzlies with 100 sets played, 257 total kills, 93 solo blocks, 127 total blocks and 60 aces. Stewart boasted .371 hit percentages along with a 48.6 kill percentage.
Stewart’s positioning on the Lady Grizzlies was pivotal to a lot of their success on the net, as she and Jamie Larson both were the defense for the Lady Grizzlies this season.Stewart took her amazing defense along with her to play for the North.
Stewart has now taken her skill to a different net, being a key member of the Lady Grizzly basketball team. The few games played this season showed that Stewart will again prove her athletic drive is one to watch for the future.
