LaMalfa announces $1.4 million in federal funding for PSRE

Congressman Doug LaMalfa announced he obtained a $1.4 million Federal Emergency Management Agency grant for Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative to cover costs incurred by the 2021 Dixie Fire.

This funding covers 90 percent of the total project’s cost in backpay from restoring the PSRE’s facility and operations back to its pre-disaster design.

“The Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative, like many throughout the north state, is still trying to rebuild following the destruction of the 2021 Dixie Fire,” LaMalfa said. “Since the fire first broke out, I have worked to ensure affected residents and local businesses had the federal assistance they needed to rebuild. Although I no longer represent Plumas or Sierra counties in Congress, I am pleased that after a year and a half, this funding has finally come through.”
