LaMalfa comments on Biden’s unconstitutional amnesty plan

Today, Congressman Doug LaMalfa released the following statement regarding today’s announcement by the Biden Administration that they would use “Parole In Place” to allow over half a million illegal aliens to stay in the US and begin the process to become citizens.  “Parole In Place” has been used for over 68 years under very strict limitations. It has not been used as a pathway to citizenship and is designed to be a temporary delay for medical necessity, humanitarian crisis,or national need. It was previously used to help Cubans escape the evils of the Castro regime and persecuted Hungarians fleeing the Soviet Union. In 1996 Congress added significant additional restrictions on its use and is now required to be used on a” case by case” individual basis.

LaMalfa will be supporting the overturning of this unconstitutional amnesty in court.

“The Biden Administration cannot wave a magic wand and grant over half a million illegal aliens’ lawful status and a path to citizenship,” LaMalfa said. “We are a nation of laws, not decrees of a dictator who is attempting to rewrite clear laws by reinterpreting words to mean anything he wants. This will be challenged in court quickly. Americans want their border enforced and illegal aliens expelled. We will not allow this administration to ignore the law, and the will of the people, to unilaterally turn those who broke our laws into citizens.”
