Lassen Cares announces 164 active community cases, 5 hospitalizations, 26 deaths

Lassen Cares announced 42 new community COVID-19 cases Thursday. About 8 percent of the positive cases are fully vaccinated residents.

As of the Sept. 2 update, there are 164 active cases in Lassen County, 2,554 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations and there have been 26 deaths: A total of 2,749 community cases.

Additionally, there have been 7,600 single vaccine doses administered by Lassen County Public Health. This does not reflect the vaccines provided by other organizations in the area. The local public health department is still offering vaccines, and appointments can be made at myturn.ca.gov.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there is 1 active case, 2,035 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 13 active cases and 1,368 recovered cases at CCC, and 0 active and 235 recovered at FCI Herlong.
