As of the Tuesday, Sept. 21 numbers, there are 179 active community cases of COVID-19 in Lassen County, 2,993 recovered, 12 current hospitalizations and there have been 32 deaths: A total of 3,216 community cases — an increase of 18 new cases.
About 10 percent of the active cases are fully vaccinated residents, and 0 percent of current hospitalized residents are fully vaccinated, according to Lassen Cares.
Additionally, there have been 7,677 single vaccine doses administered by Lassen County Public Health. This does not reflect the vaccines provided by other organizations in the area. The local public health department is still offering vaccines, and appointments can be made at myturn.ca.gov.
At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there is 1 active case, 2,042 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 2 active cases and 1,422 recovered cases at CCC, and 153 active and 197 recovered at FCI Herlong.
