Lassen Cares announces 44 new cases: 200 active, 2,868 recovered

As of the Thursday, Sept. 16 numbers, there are 200 active community cases of COVID-19 in Lassen County, 2,868 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations and there have been 30 deaths: A total of 3,104 community cases — an increase of 44 new cases.

About 11 percent of the active cases are fully vaccinated residents, and 0 percent of current hospitalized residents are fully vaccinated, according to Lassen Cares.

Additionally, there have been 7,643 single vaccine doses administered by Lassen County Public Health. This does not reflect the vaccines provided by other organizations in the area. The local public health department is still offering vaccines, and appointments can be made at myturn.ca.gov.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 2 active cases, 2,041 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 2 active cases and 1,422 recovered cases at CCC, and 97 active and 197 recovered at FCI Herlong.
