Lassen Cares announces 57 new cases: 198 active, 29 deaths

Lassen Cares announced 57 new community COVID-19 cases and two new deaths Tuesday.

As of the Tuesday, Sept. 7 update, there are 198 active cases in Lassen County, 2,609 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations and there have been 29 deaths: A total of 2,841 community case – an increase of 57 new cases since the Friday update.

About 11 percent of the active and hospitalized cases are fully vaccinated.

Additionally, there have been 7,600 single vaccine doses administered by Lassen County Public Health. This does not reflect the vaccines provided by other organizations in the area. The local public health department is still offering vaccines, and appointments can be made at myturn.ca.gov.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there is 0 active cases, 2,036 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 8 active cases and 1,373 recovered cases at CCC, and 0 active and 235 recovered at FCI Herlong.
