Lassen Cares announces 60 new cases: 32 deaths, nine currently hospitalized

On Monday Lassen Cares reported two new deaths and hospitalizations related to COVID-19.

As of the Monday, Sept. 20 numbers, there are 208 active community cases of COVID-19 in Lassen County, 2,949 recovered, nine current hospitalizations and there have been 32 deaths: A total of 3,198 community cases — an increase of 60 new cases.

About 12 percent of the active cases are fully vaccinated residents, and 0 percent of current hospitalized residents are fully vaccinated, according to Lassen Cares.

Additionally, there have been 7,661 single vaccine doses administered by Lassen County Public Health. This does not reflect the vaccines provided by other organizations in the area. The local public health department is still offering vaccines, and appointments can be made at myturn.ca.gov.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there is 1 active case, 2,042 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 2 active cases and 1,422 recovered cases at CCC, and 113 active and 197 recovered at FCI Herlong.
