Lassen Cares announces 65 new cases: 116 active, 6 hospitalized

COVID-19 community cases continue to rise in Lassen County as Lassen Cares reported an increase of 65 new cases Tuesday.

As of the Aug. 17 update, there are 116 active cases in Lassen County, 2,289 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations and there have been 24 deaths: A total of 2,435 community cases — an increase of 65 new cases.

Additionally, there have been 7,520 single vaccine doses administered by Lassen County Public Health. This does not reflect the vaccines provided by other organizations in the area. The local public health department is still offering vaccines, and appointments can be made at myturn.ca.gov.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 10 active cases, 2,025 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 0 active cases and 1,366 recovered cases at CCC, and 0 active and 235 recovered at FCI Herlong.
