Lassen Cares announces 67 new community cases: 155 active, 7 hospitalized

Lassen Cares announced 67 new community COVID-19 cases Tuesday, noting about 11 percent of the total current positive cases were fully vaccinated.

As of the Aug. 31 update, there are 155 active cases in Lassen County, 2,494 recovered, 7 current hospitalizations and there have been 25 deaths: A total of 2,681 community cases.

Additionally, there have been 7,570 single vaccine doses administered by Lassen County Public Health. This does not reflect the vaccines provided by other organizations in the area. The local public health department is still offering vaccines, and appointments can be made at myturn.ca.gov.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there is 1 active case, 2,035 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 13 active cases and 1,368 recovered cases at CCC, and 0 active and 235 recovered at FCI Herlong.
