As of the 5:50 p.m. March 8 update, there are 7 active COVID-19 community cases, 2,004 recovered, there are no current hospitalizations and there have been 22 deaths: An increase of one new case for a total of 2,033 community cases.
There have been 2,352 vaccines administered, not including doses from Banner Lassen Medical Center or CDCR. Lassen County Public Health is hosting a free Drive-Through COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 17 at Lassen Community College.
At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there is 1 active cases, 2,023 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 18 active cases and 1,312 recovered cases at CCC, and six active and 234 recovered at FCI Herlong.
Positive correctional staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of the March 8 update, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there are currently 6 active staff cases, and 14 active staff cases at HDSP.
Locally, there have been 15,211 tests administered, with 13,176 returning negative and 2 pending.
