As of the 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15 Lassen Cares update, there are 574 active COVID-19 community cases, 416 recovered, seven are currently hospitalized and there have been five deaths reported: A total of 1,002 community cases — an increase of 70 new cases since the Monday update.
At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 708 active cases, 980 recovered and one death at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 40 active cases and 658 recovered cases at CCC, and 49 active and 146 recovered at FCI Herlong.
Positive correctional institution staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of the Dec. 14 update, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there are currently 90 active staff cases, and 100 active staff cases at HDSP.
Locally, there have been 12,599 tests administered, with 11,228 returning negative and 369 pending.
For serology testing, which detects the presence of antibodies in the blood, 260 have been tested, 10 returned positive and 250 returned negative.
