Local COVID-19 cases continue to increase as Lassen Cares announced 71 new community cases in the Thursday evening update.
As of the Aug. 26 update, there are 137 active cases in Lassen County, 2,417 recovered, 9 current hospitalizations and there have been 25 deaths: A total of 2,588 community cases.
Additionally, there have been 7,538 single vaccine doses administered by Lassen County Public Health. This does not reflect the vaccines provided by other organizations in the area. The local public health department is still offering vaccines, and appointments can be made at myturn.ca.gov.
At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there is 1 active case, 2,035 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 5 active cases and 1,367 recovered cases at CCC, and 0 active and 235 recovered at FCI Herlong.
