Lassen Cares announces one new COVID-19 case, four hospitalized, 2,129 recovered

New reported cases and hospitalizations went down Tuesday, as Lassen Cares announced only one new community case and four current hospitalizations Tuesday. The local COVID-19 hub also noted the current active hospitalized patients were unvaccinated and not considered high risk.

As of the evening June 8 update, there are six active COVID-19 community cases in Lassen County, 2,129 recovered, four current hospitalizations and there have been 21 deaths. Local deaths decreased by one after a review determined one of the reported deaths did not meet the criteria.
Additionally, there have been 7,186 vaccine doses administered by Lassen County Public Health. This does not reflect the vaccines provided by other organizations in the area.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 0 active cases, 2,024 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 15 active cases and 1,332 recovered cases at CCC, and 0 active and 235 recovered at FCI Herlong.

Positive correctional staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of the June 4 update, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there are currently three active staff cases, and six active staff cases at HDSP.
