Lassen Cares reports 35 new community cases Tuesday: 435 active, 785 recovered

As of the 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22 Lassen Cares update, there are 435 active COVID-19 community cases, 785 recovered, 11 are currently hospitalized and there have been seven deaths reported: A total of 1,238 community cases — an increase of 35 new community cases since the Monday update.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 422 active cases, 1,427 recovered and one death at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 133 active cases and 688 recovered cases at CCC, and 26 active and 221 recovered at FCI Herlong.

Positive correctional staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of the Dec. 22 update, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there are currently 102 active staff cases, and 74 active staff cases at HDSP.

Locally, there have been 13,097 tests administered, with 11,592 returning negative and 267 pending.

For serology testing, which detects the presence of antibodies in the blood, 262 have been tested, 11 returned positive and 251 returned negative.
