As of the 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8 Lassen Cares update, there are 391 active COVID-19 community cases, 317 recovered, five are currently hospitalized and there have been four deaths reported: A total of 717 community cases — an increase of 26 cases since the last update Monday.
At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 479 active cases, 828 recovered and one death at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 19 active cases and 652 recovered cases at CCC, and 148 active and 12 recovered at FCI Herlong.
Positive correctional institution staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of Tuesday, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there are currently 55 active staff cases, and 123 active staff cases at HDSP.
Locally, there have been 12,029 tests administered, with 10,955 returning negative and 357 pending.
For serology testing, which detects the presence of antibodies in the blood, 255 have been tested, six returned positive and 249 returned negative.
