Lassen Cares reports 431 active community cases, 777 total

As of the 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9 Lassen Cares update, there are 431 active COVID-19 community cases, 337 recovered, five are currently hospitalized and there have been four deaths reported: A total of 777 community cases.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 439 active cases, 869 recovered and one death at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 20 active cases and 654 recovered cases at CCC, and 48 active and 122 recovered at FCI Herlong.

Positive correctional institution staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of Tuesday, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there are currently 55 active staff cases, and 123 active staff cases at HDSP.

Locally, there have been 12,065 tests administered, with 10,961 returning negative and 327 pending.

For serology testing, which detects the presence of antibodies in the blood, 255 have been tested, six returned positive and 249 returned negative.
