Lassen Cares reports 472 active community cases, 715 recovered and seven deaths

New local community COVID-19 cases continue to come in, others are recovering and a seventh death was reported Monday.

As of the 4:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21 Lassen Cares update, there are 472 active COVID-19 community cases, 715 recovered, 9 are currently hospitalized and there have been seven deaths reported: A total of 1,203 community cases — an increase of 81 new community cases since the Friday, Dec. 18 update.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 563 active cases, 1,284 recovered and one death at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 146 active cases and 674 recovered cases at CCC, and 82 active and 163 recovered at FCI Herlong.

Positive correctional staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of the Dec. 18 update, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there are currently 106 active staff cases, and 76 active staff cases at HDSP.

Locally, there have been 13,059 tests administered, with 11,562 returning negative and 294 pending.

For serology testing, which detects the presence of antibodies in the blood, 262 have been tested, 11 returned positive and 251 returned negative.
