As of the 5:11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 Lassen Cares update, there are 483 active COVID-19 community cases, 363 recovered, seven are currently hospitalized and there have been five deaths reported: A total of 858 community cases — an increase of 49 cases since the Thursday update.
“We know it’s hard right now, but please try to stay optimistic, safe and considerate of others,” Lassen Cares wrote on its Friday evening post of the numbers.
At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 508 active cases, 903 recovered and one death at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 30 active cases and 654 recovered cases at CCC, and 27 active and 146 recovered at FCI Herlong.
Positive correctional institution staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of the Thursday update, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there are currently 73 active staff cases, and 160 active staff cases at HDSP.
Locally, there have been 12,456 tests administered, with 11,042 returning negative and 359 pending.
For serology testing, which detects the presence of antibodies in the blood, 258 have been tested, nine returned positive and 249 returned negative.
