As of the 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18 Lassen Cares update, there are 532 active COVID-19 community cases, 572 recovered, 12 are currently hospitalized and there have been six deaths reported: A total of 1,122 community cases — an increase of 48 new community cases since the Thursday update.
At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 543 active cases, 1,227 recovered and one death at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 54 active cases and 673 recovered cases at CCC, and 77 active and 164 recovered at FCI Herlong.
Positive correctional staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of the Dec. 18 update, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there are currently 106 active staff cases, and 76 active staff cases at HDSP.
Locally, there have been 12,890 tests administered, with 11,425 returning negative and 343 pending.
For serology testing, which detects the presence of antibodies in the blood, 260 have been tested, 10 returned positive and 250 returned negative.
