COVID-19 community cases are increasing in the area with five more reported Wednesday, and cases at High Desert State Prison are increasing as well.
According to Lassen Cares, the local hub for COVID-19 information, there are 164 Lassen County COVID-19 community cases as of Wednesday, Nov. 11. Of the total cases, 28 are active, four are currently hospitalized, 131 have recovered and there was one COVID-19 related death in October.
Some local correctional institutions are also seeing an increase. According to Lassen Cares, HDSP has 100 active cases, with four recovered. Yesterday, there were 40 active cases reported at HDSP. FCI Herlong has eight active cases and four recovered, and there are zero active cases at CCC, with 626 recovered.
There have been 10,210 tests administered, with 9,976 returning negative and 70 pending.
