Lassen Cares reports five new cases, two hospitalizations

Lassen Cares announced five new cases and two current hospitalizations Wednesday.
As of the 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 12 update, there are 12 active COVID-19 community cases, 2,077 recovered, two current hospitalizations and there have been 22 deaths: A total of 2,113 community cases.
Additionally, there have been 6,872 vaccines administered by Lassen County Public Health. This does not reflect the vaccines provided by other organizations in the area.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 0 active cases, 2,024 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, 0 active cases and 1,332 recovered cases at CCC, and 0 active and 235 recovered at FCI Herlong.

Positive correctional staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of the May 7 update, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there is currently one active staff case, and five active staff cases at HDSP.
