As of the 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2 update, there are 79 active COVID-19 community cases, 1,844 recovered, 7 are currently hospitalized and there have been 15 deaths reported: A total of 1,945 community cases. There were no new active community cases reported Tuesday.
Moreover, there have been 1,039 vaccines administered, not including doses from Banner Lassen Medical Center or CDCR.
At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 18 active cases, 1,966 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 21 active cases and 1,216 recovered cases at CCC, and no active and 245 recovered at FCI Herlong.
Positive correctional staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of the Feb. 2 update, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there are currently 17 active staff cases, and 15 active staff cases at HDSP.
A few weeks ago, Health and Social Services Director Barbara Longo shared some of the age ranges of eight residents who have passed from COVID-19. In Lassen County, four of the local community deaths have been from residents 85 years and older; three have been between 75 and 84 years old; and one has been a resident between the ages of 55 and 64.
Locally, there have been 14,657 tests administered, with 12,712 returning negative and 0 pending.
