Lassen County Arts Council’s Autumn Exhibit opens today; LMUD reception set for Oct. 12

The Lassen County Arts Council is excited to announce the Autumn Exhibit, on display at its Gallery, according to a statement from the council.

Photographs entered in the Lassen Municipal Utility District’s Ruralite Cover photo contest are on display at the Lassen County Arts Council’s Autumn Exhibit now through Nov. 18.

The Autumn Exhibit is a shared show featuring Rome Ravenwood of ChaCha’s Tacos, Ana Rivera of Mini Benniz and Lassen Municipal Utility District’s Ruralite Magazine Photo Cover Contest entries. The Autumn Exhibit is available for viewing from Thursday, Oct. 5, through Nov.18. The gallery is open from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and by appointment.

The Arts Council and the LMUD host a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 Thursday, Oct. 12, with complimentary snacks and a no host bar.

The Ruralite Cover Photo Contest received dozens of entries, and it was not an easy decision for the Ruralite judges, however the winning photos are:nMike Lee: Tunnel to Wonderland, Cosmic Fireplace, Weed Ceremony (grebe dance); Bruce Brown: Flowers – Spring on Whaleback, Mountain – Lake Helen, Winter Sunshine; and Kalilie Shoemaker: Butt Valley Reservoir.

The public is invited to the reception honoring the winners and recognizing the hard work and efforts of all who entered. Each photograph that was submitted will be featured in the show that will hang in the gallery for the Autumn Exhibit. Winners of the photo contest will be presented with a $100 LMUD Energy Gift card and their photos will be featured on the covers of the 2024 Ruralite magazine.

A reception for Rome and Ana’s reception date is to be determined, but it is an event that should not be missed as it will feature delicious food from these local vendors.
