Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Update
Join Lassen Community College for a special ceremony to honor Bob Genasci, a longtime member of the Cougar family (staff/faculty), for the dedication of the Lassen College Sports Complex in Mr. Genasci’s name. The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 15 and take place between the women’s and men’s basketball games at the LCC Gymnasium.
The Westwood Area Chamber of Commerce presents its 12th annual Chowder Cook Off, rain or shine from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15 at the Westwood Visitors Center. This event offers live music, bounce house, vendors and $700 in cash prizes! For more information call 256-2456.
Join CASA for a night of family fun to watch the movie “Small Foot!” at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15 at the Community Church of Susanville. Don’t forget to bring pillows and blankets. Event entry and concessions by donation. Call the LFS CASA program at 257-4599 with any questions.

Fire up the grill! Lassen County Cowboy Festival Chili Cook Off will be held Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. Cooking begins at 11 a.m. and tasting begins at 3 p.m. Registration information can be found at lassencountyfair.org or at the fair office.
Mark your Calendars as Northern California Cancer Advocates brings to you its Crab Feed, Saturday, Feb. 5. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at the Susanville Elks Lodge. Tickets can be purchased at Lassen County Federal Credit Union, Grocery Outlet or here at the Chamber Office.
Peninsula Firemen’s Association presents its Crab Feed, Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Lake Almanor Area Country Club – Clubhouse. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner is served at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in Chester at Fire Station # 2, Tantardino’s Pizza & Pasta or Rouland’s Insurance Agency. “Crab & Go” orders are also available. Lassen County Cattlemen and Cattlewomen present A Taste of Beef, A Sip of Wine from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 at Susanville Elks Lodge. Live music by the band Timeless will be offered from 9 to 11 p.m. Must be 21 years of age to attend. Presale tickets can be purchased at the Lassen County Fairgrounds or KJDX/KSUE Radio Station.
Mark your calendar for the first Chamber Mixer of 2022! Lassen County Fair will host the February Chamber Mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17 at Lassen County Fairgrounds. Stop by to enjoy a no-host bar featuring a specialty cocktail. Everyone is welcome; you do not need to be a chamber member to attend, and we encourage you to bring a friend!
Save the Dates! Lassen Youth Football and Cheer Early Bird Registration will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, and Friday, Feb. 25 at the Comfort Inn in Susanville.
