The Annual Leaf Collection will run from Oct. 21 through Dec. 5. City of Susanville residents may drop off bagged leaves that are securely tied at the vacant lot on the intersection of Skyline Road and Numa Road. Remember no waste or trash allowed, bagged leaves only, and the weight limit is 40 pounds. If you need assistance, call (530) 257-1041 to arrange a pickup of tied and bagged leaves.
Frightmare at the Fair
Are you ready for Halloween? Susanville’s Best of Broadway, brings you, Frightmare at the Fair Oct. 27 through Oct. 31 at the Lassen County Fairgrounds from 6 to 10 p.m.offering a no scare option from 6 to 7 p.m. each day. Pre-sale tickets are available for $8 to $10 at Margie’s Book Nook, Forest Office Equipment and the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce.
Sentimental Journey’s second annual Craft Fair in the Barn
Sentimental Journey’s second annual Craft Fair in the Barn will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at 465-320 Church Street in Janesville. This event will have new vendors, one-of-a-kinds items for Halloween, Fall and Christmas and food and gifts.
Safe and Sane Halloween
Historic Uptown Susanville Association hosts its annual Safe and Sane Halloween from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31. The event includes live entertainment, dance performances, pet costume contest, children’s costume contest and loads of candy. This event is free to the community. Best of Broadway Auditions
Susanville Best of Broadway holds auditions for its 2023 concert series, “Decades of Dreamers.” Auditions are open to all ages 6 and up and all genders and skill levels. Come prepared to sing the chorus of a song of your choice and allow an hour and a half for audition process. Audition dates are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 or from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Veterans Memorial Hall. For more information, visit www.susanvillebestofbroadway.org.
Honey Lake HospiceMemorial Tree Lighting Ceremony
Honey Lake Hospice hosts the 19th annual Memorial Tree Lighting ceremony — “Light Up A Life” — at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Methodist Fellowship Hall, 635 Cottage Street in Susanville. This one-hour heartwarming ceremony event takes place outdoors followed by an indoor reception with refreshments. Susanville Sunrise Rotary 19th annual Beer and Wine Tasting
Susanville Sunrise Rotary hosts its 19th annual Beer and Wine Tasting Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Jensen Hall. Tickets are $35 per person which includes delicious appetizers and a commemorative glass. Lassen Senior Services Turkey Trot
Lassen Senior Services hosts the ninth annual Turkey Trot at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24 at 1700 Sunkist Drive in Susanville. The course is 3.1 miles and there will be prizes for best costumes and largest family group. Donations of non-perishable food or cash are appreciated. Lassen Hoops Registration
Lassen Hoops registration — Online signups will run from Oct. 24 through Nov. 18 and can be accessed at http://clubs.bluesombrero.com/lassenhoops. In person signups will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 and Tuesday Nov. 15 at Susanville Pizza Factory. Third through sixth grade boys and third through eighth grade girls are eligible to register.
