The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce has launched its Holiday Shopping Campaign — Magic Made Local. This year there are 23 participating businesses around town for you to get all your holiday shopping needs. This campaign will run through Dec. 20. Once you have visited five of more of the participating locations and receive a stamp in your brochure, you may drop it off at the Chamber office, 1516 Main Street for a chance to be put in for raffle baskets. November Mixer
Make plans for the November Chamber Mixer hosted by Milwood Florist, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 at 2020 Main St. in Susanville. Stop by to enjoy a no host bar and appetizers. Everyone is welcome. You do not need to be a Chamber member to attend, and we encourage you to bring a friend.

Annual Leaf Collection
The city of Susanville’s annual leaf collection runs from Oct. 21 through Dec. 5. City of Susanville residents may drop off bagged leaves that are securely tied at the vacant lot on the intersection of Skyline Road and Numa Road. Remember — no waste or trash allowed, bagged leaves only, weight limit is 40 pounds. If you need assistance, call (530) 257-1041 to arrange a pickup of tied and bagged leaves.

Best of Broadway Auditions
Susanville Best of Broadway is holding auditions for its 2023 concert series, “Decades of Dreamers.” Auditions are open to all ages 6 and up and all genders and skill levels. Come prepared to sing a chorus of a song of your choice and allow an hour and a half for audition process. The audition date is noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Veterans Memorial Hall. Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony
The Honey Lake Hospice brings to you the 19th annual “Light Up A Life” Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Methodist Fellowship Hall, 635 Cottage St. in Susanville. This one-hour heartwarming ceremony event takes place outdoors followed by an indoor reception with refreshments. Nutcracker
Susanville’s Best of Broadway and the Reno Dance Company present The Nutcracker at the Veterans Memorial Hall at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 and at 1 and 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce and Margie’s Book Nook.

19th annual Beer and Wine Tasting
Susanville Sunrise Rotary presents the 19th annual Beer and Wine Tasting Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Jensen Hall. Tickets are $35 per person which includes delicious appetizers and a commemorative glass. Also offering a silent auction, no need to be present to win. 9th annual Turkey Trot
Lassen Senior Services will be holding the 9th annual Turkey Trot at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24 at at 1700 Sunkist Drive in Susanville. The course is 3.1 miles, and there will be prizes for best costumes and largest family group. Donations of non-perishable food or cash are appreciated. Let’s fill the pantry for our low-income seniors. For more information, call (530) 257-2113.

Lassen Hoops Registration
Lassen Hoops registration. Online signups are available now through Nov. 18  at clubs.bluesombrero.com/lassenhoops. In person signups will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 15 at Susanville Pizza Factory. Third through sixth grade boys and third through eighth grade girls are eligible to register.

Magical Country Christmas
Mark your Calendars as this year’s Magical Country Christmas is just around the corner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. We will ring in the holiday season with Santa’s grand entry parade, Christmas tree lighting, fireworks, vendors, food and beverages, a hot toddy walk for adults 21 and over, and free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. This is an evening you will not want to miss, so bundle up and bring the family to this year’s Magical Country Christmas! Vendor and parade entry forms can be found at the chambrer office or online at lassencountychamber.org.
