The Lassen County Planning Commission solicits the aid of public agencies and the general public in consideration of the following item:

Applicant: Emily Jane Rosenberg, Trustee (Lillian Jane Deas Trust et al.).

Project & Zoning: Proposal to rezone two parcels of approximately 640 acres from U-C-2 (Upland Conservation/Resource Management District) to T-P-Z (Timber Production Zone District). According to Government Code Section 51115, parcels zoned as “timberland production” shall be zoned so as to restrict their use to the growing and harvesting of timber and other compatible uses (see below for a discussion regarding other “compatible uses”). According to the Forest Management Plan submitted with this rezone application, the property is vegetated with a mix of lodgepole pine, Jeffrey pine, white fir, perennial grass meadow, and aspen habitat types.

Location: The project site is located at Upper Stevens Meadow in the Lassen National Forest, approximately two miles northeast of Silver Lake near the Caribou Wilderness Area (approximately 20 miles north of Westwood).

SOCIAL SERVICES TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COUNCIL

The Lassen County Social Service Transportation Advisor Council (SSTAC) will hold a public hearing at 1:00, Wednesday, February 26th at the Susanville City Council Chambers located at 66 North Lassen Street, Susanville, California for the purpose of taking public comment on future and unmet transit needs of the community. The hearing is an important element of the Lassen County Transportation Commission’s “unmet transportation needs that are reasonable to meet” process, and is a requirement of the transportation Development Act.
