A GSP is a planning document required by the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), a set of laws passed in 2014. A GSP is a detailed plan for how a groundwater basin will reach long-term sustainability. It establishes a groundwater budget, minimum thresholds, and management actions to achieve sustainability.

Who is developing the GSP in Big Valley?

Lassen and Modoc Counties have agreed to serve as the GSAs for their respective portions of the Big Valley Groundwater Basin (BVGB). The GSAs have agreed to work collaboratively to develop a single GSP for the entire BVGB as required by SGMA. The BVAC has been established by the GSAs to help guide the process. All BVAC meetings will be open to the public and public comment on the GSP development will be heard at each BVAC meeting. Public comment received prior to each meeting will also be presented to the BVAC members.

Frontier provides basic residential services for rates from $20.00-$22.00 for flat rate service. Frontier also provides basic business services for rates from $34.50-$42.50. Other taxes, fees, and surcharges may apply. Frontier offers single party service, touch tone, toll blocking, access to long distance, emergency services, operator assistance, and directory assistance. Use of these services may result in additional charges. Budget or economy services also may be available.

Frontier offers Lifeline service which is a nontransferable government assistance program that provides a $7.25 discount on the cost of monthly telephone service or $9.25 on eligible broadband or bundled voice and broadband products (where available) and is limited to one discount per household. In addition to Basic Lifeline, individuals living on federally recognized Tribal Lands who meet the eligibility criteria may also qualify for additional monthly discounts through Enhanced Lifeline and up to $100.00 toward installation fees through the Tribal Link-Up program. You may also qualify for an additional state discount where available.

OLDER AMERICANS ACT

Fiscals Year 2020-2024

Planning and Service Area 2 Area Agency on Aging (PSA 2 AAA) is pleased to announce the availability of funding for senior services in Lassen, Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou and Trinity counties for fiscal years 2020 – 2024. Projected annual funding in the amount of $1,400,808* will be available through Title III of the Older Americans Act (OAA).

OAA funds are allocated annually for programs to provide the following services: Congregate Meals, Home-Delivered Meals, Evidence-Based Disease Prevention/Health Promotion, Family Caregiver Support Programs, Homemaker, Chore, Transportation, Legal Assistance, and Information & Assistance (Shasta County).

Funding will be awarded to programs based on successful proposals submitted through a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process.

If you wish to receive a copy of the RFP application packet, please submit your request in writing, on formal letterhead, to the PSA 2 Area Agency on Aging, P.O. Box 1400, Yreka, CA  96097, or by fax at 530-842-4804. (Requests via email will not be accepted.)

Written requests must include a list of the programs of interest for which the applicant is applying for funding as well as the organization’s name, a contact name, phone number, e-mail address, and mailing address.

The closing date for submission of the RFP is Friday, March 16, 2020 by 4:00 p.m.
