Provisional Appointment
Due to the term expiration of one member of the Board of Trustees of the Johnstonville Elementary School District, the Board voted at its September 13, 2018 meeting to call for a provisional appointment to fill the vacated seat. Community members wishing to be considered for a provisional appointment must:
1. Be a resident of the school district listed above.
• Complete a questionnaire, which may be obtained by contacting Rhonda Lavacot, Johnstonville Elementary School District, Susanville, California, 96130, (530) 257-2471 or visit our website www.johnstonville.org to access the information. Completed questionnaires must be submitted to the Johnstonville Elementary School Office.
Applications from candidates meeting the above qualifications will be reviewed by the Johnstonville Elementary School District Board of Trustees, and the Board may fill the vacancy at the next scheduled meeting of the Board. Unless a petition calling for a special election, containing a sufficient number of signatures, is filed in the Lassen County Office of Education within 30 days following a provisional appointment, the appointment shall become effective. The appointee shall hold office until the next regularly-scheduled board member election, which will be in November 2020.

SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE
PROPOSED TO BE ADOPTED ON MARCH 12, 2019
BY THE LASSEN COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The proposed ordinance would establish a temporary moratorium on the cultivation of industrial hemp by “Established Agricultural Research Institutions,” as defined by California Food and Agricultural Code Section 8100(c), while County staff determines the impact of such unregulated cultivation and reasonable regulations to mitigate such impacts. This urgency ordinance is adopted pursuant to California Constitution article 11, section 7, Government Code sections 65800, et seq., particularly section 65858, and other applicable law.

The Lassen National Forest is initiating scoping for the Lassen Motor Vehicle Use Map Update Project (MVUM Project; project). The MVUM Project has been proposed to enhance and diversify off highway motorized recreation opportunities, increase the mileage and connectivity of existing roads available to off-highway vehicles, provide for public safety and resource protection, and update the Lassen Motorized Vehicle Use Map.
The analysis for this project covers approximately 168 linear miles of road located throughout the Lassen National Forest. The approximate legal locations include: Township 26N, Range 5-6E; T27N R6,9E; T28N, R3-5E, T29N, R3-6,9E; T30N, R9E; T31N, R6-7E; T32N, R3,6-8,10E; T33N, R6-8E; T34N, R5-7E; T35N, R7E; T38N, R4E; T39N, R4E; and T40N, R4E, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian.

The Plumas National Forest is advertising for the Frazier Integrated Resource Timber Contract (IRTC) Stewardship. The Frazier IRTC Stewardship Timber Sale is located in all or portions of T.21N., R.12E., sections 21, 22, 27, and 28., M.D.M. Sealed – “Best Value” offers will be received at the Plumas National Forest Supervisor’s Office, 159 Lawrence St. Quincy, CA 95971, on April 5th, 2019, at 10:00 AM local time, of an estimated 4,687 CCF (2.343 MBF) of sawtimber and an estimated 4,866 CCF (13,383 Tons) of Green Biomass Convertible (Grn Bio Cv), marked or otherwise designated for cutting on approximately 493 acres, with six mandatory stewardship projects and two optional stewardship project. Stewardship project(s) are: Mandatory Item 001: Haul of Biomass In Units 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5A, 6, and 6A, Mandatory Item 002: Cut, Skid and Deck Biomass Material in Units 7, 8, and 9, Mandatory Item 003: Road Maintenance, Mandatory Item 004: Temporary Road Construction, Mandatory Item 005: Temporary Road Re- opening, Mandatory Item 006: Tillage and Special Erosion Prevention Measures. In addition, there is within the sale area an estimated volume of 9,065 ton of Combined Softwood grn bio cv that the bidder agrees to remove at a fixed rate. This is a small business set-aside sale. If no self-certifying small business concern makes a valid bid, the Forest Service will re advertise this sale without restrictions on bidder size.
