The annual Wreath Dedication Ceremony, scheduled for 10 a.m. today, Friday, Oct. 22 at the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, was canceled due to inclement weather.
The annual event honors regional law enforcement officers — Lassen County Sheriff Deputy Larry Griffith, Susanville Police Officer Robert McElrath and Modoc County Sheriff Deputy Jack Hopkins — all of whom lost their lives to domestic violence.
According to a statement from organizer Lassen Family Services, “Unfortunately, due to the weather this week and next, the Wreath Dedication Ceremony has been cancelled. We appreciate the collaboration with our law enforcement partners and will continue to work to end domestic violence in our community. Our condolences go out to all those and their families that we have lost in the line of duty due to domestic violence. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.”
