Lassen High junior wins junior trap competition

Lassen High School trap shooter, Caleb Montgomery, continues to dominate the competition in shotgun sports. Montgomery recently traveled to the Livermore-Pleasanton Gun Club in the Bay Area to receive the California State Trap Shooting Association’s 2019 series Junior championship trophy.

Montgomery competed throughout the state last year at many clubs designated as CSTA Series events where his best 500 singles and best 500 handicap targets were averaged, besting the field with 955/1000 targets.

Montgomery earned a beautiful silver and gold trophy buckle with a 2019 silver Walking Liberty coin, adorned with rubies and sapphires.

Montgomery is excited about the 2020 Pacific International Trap Association season and looks forward to competing again in the California Youth Sport Shooting Association with the Lassen Grizzly Claybreakers this year.

The high school trap shooting season gets underway Saturday, March 7 at Coon Creek in Lincoln, California.
