Lassen High School moves back first day of school

The beginning of the school year Lassen High School is being pushed back a few days, principal/ superintendent Morgan Nugent shared Monday.

“We are deciding to make the decision to go ahead and move the start of the school to Wednesday of next week instead of Monday,” said Nugent in a Facebook Live video on the Lassen High School page.

Freshman orientation, will now be at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, and the first day of school will start Wednesday, Aug. 18.

“We just want to make sure we provide everybody with enough time and heads up with the current evacuation warnings and everything else around here. We just think it’s prudent for us to go ahead and step back for a little bit, slow down, make sure we have a really good start, and we’ll have more information coming out shortly about it,” Nugent shared.
